Our contract was settled -- I'm satisfied with the outcome. We did get a signing bonus. We did get $500 every 2 years towards eye vision including the eye exam. We did get improvements in our benefits; not all of them but most of the important ones. There was a standing ovation at our General Meeting announcing what we'd been given. Its not easy being in Vankookoo for 25 days and not giving in or giving up and trying to bang out not a good deal but a great deal. We even get a pretty good pay increase that will bring us up to the cost of living. However, considering a house is on the market in Victoria for a price that is considered by myself grossly out of the ballpark I just know there isn't much hope of owning something at this time.
And that's my good news.....
